We are pleased to announce the following 2016-2017 grant recipients:

Exploit No More – $7,500

Exploit No More is dedicated to ending child sex trafficking in the Greater Milwaukee region. ENM works with private, public, and other non-profit community organizations dedicated to serving youth and eradicating child sex trafficking.

The Women’s Center – $7,000

Founded in 1977, The Women’s Center serves women and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse.  The Women’s Center offers free and comprehensive services including domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse counseling, an emergency domestic violence shelter, a 24-hour hotline, free on-site child care, legal advocacy, transitional living, and life skills programming that includes employment, parenting and grandparents support groups, educational forums and advocacy.

Blessings in a Backpack – $5,000

Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.

Victory Garden Initiative – $4,557.92

Victory Garden Initiative builds communities that grow their own food, creating a community-based, socially just, environmentally sustainable, nutritious food system for all.

Association of Ladies of Charity – $4,557.91

Ladies of Charity (LOC) is part of the Vincentian Family of ministries. It is an international association of women, inspired by the life of St. Vincent de Paul, whose goal is to provide service to those living in poverty. The Milwaukee chapter started over 50 years ago. All of our chapter members (approximately 120 women), including officers, are non-paid volunteers. The special mission of the Milwaukee chapter is a Children’s Clothing Center located on the campus of St. Francis of Assisi in Milwaukee’s inner city.

FOOD pantry of Waukesha County – $3,500

The FOOD Pantry of Waukesha County provides food, hope, and dignity to county residents in need, and advocates to increase awareness of hunger in the community through collaborative action.

Zachariah’s Acres – $3,500

Zachariah’s Acres is committed to enhancing the landscape and making it accessible for children with special needs and their families to have meaningful experiences in nature.

Our Vision:

  • A setting where children with disabilities are comfortable in the outdoors and participate in fully accessible agricultural and nature-based activities
  • A place where families, organizations, and community members gather to play, share fellowship, relax and learn.

Events and programs that allow families and children to enjoy enriching experiences and new adventures to enhance their daily lives.

Sunbeam Kids – $1,500

To engage kids with the world around them through community service projects so they experience how even little hands can make a big impact when they open their hearts and minds to the needs of others.
