Thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to learn more about our organization! My name is Katy Matola and I am extremely honored to serve as the 2016-2017 President. For more than 50 years, the Elm Grove Junior Guild has worked to improve our community and the surrounding communities. We have a wonderful legacy and such a rich history in our community. As such, we strive to keep our mission at the center of all that we do to make our community better. The Mission of the Elm Grove Junior Guild is a community of women committed to the education, wellness and protection of women and children within and beyond our community. Our commitment takes the form of service, awareness, and financial support.
Since I have begun my tenure as a member of the EGJG in 2008, I have been amazed at the talent and passion that resides in the members of the Elm Grove Junior Guild. Each day has truly been an opportunity for me to learn and grow. I am so excited to lead a dynamic group of women to continue to make a difference in the lives of children, women and families.
After giving it a lot of thought and a little inspiration from Rosie the Riveter, I thought this would be the perfect year to go with the theme of “Women Building Better Communities”. General Membership meetings will have engaging topics presented by inspiring women within our community and continue to have a social component that fosters friendships and connections. The Community Service Team will help promote volunteerism and opportunities to help others.
Our Fundraising team is looking ahead to successful events and profitable returns through the Tree of Giving Gala in the spring, as well as smaller fundraisers throughout the year. All of this work done by us is on a VOLUNTEER basis. Every dollar that we raise during the course of the year means that we have more money to give back to the community.
This year we expect to grant more than $50, 000 to local nonprofit organizations that serve women and children. We are able to grant this money because of the amazing sponsorships and donations from last year’s gala as well as the hard work of the members of the EGJG.
If you have any questions or would like additional information about our organization, please contact me at email@example.com. We would love it if you followed us on Facebook. We look forward to connecting with you!
