2026 Essay Topic

Share a time when you took initiative to make a positive impact on someone or your community. How did stepping into a leadership or mentorship role shape your understanding of responsibility and empathy?

Eligibility

The Elm Grove Junior Guild Essay Contest is open to all high school seniors who meet the following eligibility requirements:

ELIGIBLE STUDENTS MUST:
1. Graduate high school in June 2026
2. Reside in the Elmbrook School District
-OR-
attend Brookfield Central or Brookfield East High School.

One award of at least $2,000.00 will be presented

*The Scholarship Committee shall determine the eligibility of those who apply and vote on the winner of the contest. No immediate family members of active or associate members that serve on this committee are eligible to apply. However, immediate family members of active or associate members who are not serving on the Scholarship Committee are eligible for the scholarship contest.

Timeline

  1. Complete the online application, including your essay (800 word limit) between February 1st – March 31st, 2026.
  2. Applications will be judged by a committee of active Elm Grove Junior Guild members.
  3. The winner will be notified no later than April 30, 2026.
  4. By submitting an application, you give permission to the Elm Grove Junior Guild to follow up or to verify any information provided in this application. Acceptance of this award constitutes permission for the Elm Grove Junior Guild to use the recipient’s name, image or likeness for promotional or publicity purposes without written consent or compensation. The Elm Grove Junior Guild will retain all applications and personal statements. Such statements may be used for publicity purposes only.
